🐾I work from home, in a well equipped salon, and try to have only one customers dogs at a time.
I have been grooming for over 13years. I learnt at the local college for my OCN Cert before going on to do City & Guilds. I did a Vet Nursing ass. course to learn as much as I can. And a course on dog genetics
I own Shih Tzu and Leonberger’s, I got into grooming so I could groom my own dogs and it took off from there.
I show my own dogs, with many Championship and Crufts wins, and occasionally breed Leonberger’s. (2 litters in 12 years)

I have an electric table which goes down to the floor, that lets old, disabled, small to very large dogs step onto easily, without having to be lifted, which some dogs can hate. Once they are on the table, it slowy rises up to a comfortable height for myself to work at. When they are ready for bathing, the table is wheeled over to the bath and the dog can walk in comfortably, again without any lifting or stress on the dog. After the bathing is done, they walk out onto the table for drying. I have a variable dryer, which can start very low and quiet for nervous dogs or for dogs that have not been groomed before, slowly turning it up as the dog gets used to it, I always take it at the dogs pace. I also use very quiet clippers which again are great for nervous or unsure dogs, or when clipping around the facial area.
My aim is for all dogs to enjoy their grooming session and not to be scared when they come again.
On bringing dogs to my salon, I will need owners personal details, eg. Name and contact phone number and questions asked regarding any medical problems/needs, skin complaints, age, likes and dislikes etc.
With a matted coat, we have little choice but to clip the coat off and start again. I am more than happy to show you how to brush and comb your dog correctly between grooms, especially if you want to have a longer coat on your dog.
I am seeing more and more poodle crosses that the owners are brushing and thinking they are keeping the dog matt free, unfortunately, they have only been brushing the top coat, and are shocked when I show them the matts next to the skin. I understand this can be upsetting, and I am more than happy to help avoid this happening again!

I have different shampoo’s for different needs!🐾
If you have a prescription shampoo, I am happy to use that🐾
